Is it a good idea to plan a solo trip to Vegas? Heck yeah, it is! Exploring Las Vegas as a solo single female is a unique and rewarding experience that will truly open your mind. You’ll have more fun than you ever thought was possible to have alone! In this article, we’ll share some important tips for traveling alone as a female in this incredible city, as well as our top 10 things to do for an unforgettable solo adventure in Vegas.
Is Vegas Safe for Solo Female Travelers?
Yes! I have personally traveled the world as a solo single female, and I can tell you from experience that Las Vegas is a safe city for women to travel to alone. Like any major city, you need to keep your wits about you, keep hold of your belongings, and report suspicious characters to security or the police.
Stick to the main tourist areas (namely, the Strip and Fremont Street Experience), and you’ll feel quite safe. You’ll be surrounded by a sea of people most of the time that will make you forget you’re alone. Police presence in the main tourist areas is very tight, and security in the casinos and hotels is top-notch.

Vegas Tips for Solo Single Female Travelers
Book a Hotel on the Strip or Fremont Street
Be sure to get a hotel room in the heart of the action, either on the Las Vegas Strip or on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas. This will put you within walking distance to endless options when it comes to restaurants, shows, and attractions. You’ll get to see all the famous sights and you’ll feel quite safe exploring alone.
Go on a Guided Tour
Booking a guided tour of Vegas is a great way to explore the city safely, make new friends, and get awesome recommendations from a local expert. Take a hop-on, hop-off bus tour that gives you time to check out all the famous landmarks, or soar in a helicopter over the Strip at night. Or you might want to take a guided day trip to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, or the Valley of Fire.
Wear a Fanny Pack
Yeah, we know… it might look a little dorky. But carrying your personal items and money in a fanny pack keeps it safe and organized during moments of sensory overload (and there are a lot of those in Vegas). If you’re dead set on carrying a normal handbag, don’t let it out of your sight.
Make Friends at the Unique Bars in Vegas
One great way to meet fellow travelers is to have a drink at one of the many unique bars and lounges in this city. People come to Vegas from all over the world, and a bar is a good opportunity to start a conversation over cocktails.
