Western Elite’s Christmas Express

Hop aboard the Western Elite Christmas Express Train, a magical holiday attraction on the outskirts of Las Vegas that mirrors the enchanting tale of The Polar Express. This whimsical train journey whisks guests from the serene Western Elite rural property to The North Pole and beyond, offering a picturesque country Christmas experience just 60 miles north of Las Vegas in Lincoln County.

Location: US Hwy 93, Mile Marker 8 • Lincoln County, Nevada (approximately 60 minutes from the Strip). Wear warm clothes as it can get chilly at the higher elevation in this area.

Cost: A select amount of tickets are available to the general public each year and should be requested directly from their website here.

Dates/Times: Takes place over the first couple of weekends in December each year with gates opening at 4:45pm. Trains depart every 15 minutes starting at 5:30 pm with the last one leaving at 9:00 pm.

The Las Vegas Great Santa Run

Opportunity Village presents the iconic Las Vegas Great Santa Run, taking place in early December each year at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center. Be one of the thousands of Santa’s in the 1-mile or 5k jaunt of the season while raising money to help adults with disabilities in the Las Vegas community.

Ethel M Chocolates’ Holiday Cactus Garden

Ethel M’s Botanical Cactus Garden gets a festive makeover with hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights. Stroll through this enchanting garden adorned with cacti decked out in holiday lights and decorations.

Enjoy fresh-made gourmet chocolates and one of the largest cactus gardens in the world.

The Ice Rink at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Dates/Times: The ice rink opens on November 28, operating daily from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM through December 1. From December 2 to 15, it’s open weekdays from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM and weekends from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Hours shift to 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM on weekdays from December 15 to January 5, with weekend hours unchanged, before returning to 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM weekdays from January 6 to 12.

Magical Forest at Opportunity Village

The Magical Forest is a beloved holiday tradition featuring a winter wonderland of lights, festive displays, amusement rides, and entertainment. It’s a family-friendly attraction with a heartwarming atmosphere.

Nevada Ballet Theatre’s The Nutcracker

A magical journey through a larger-than-life world filled with waltzing flowers, nimble fairies and moonlit snow. Choreographed by James Canfield, Las Vegas’ favorite holiday tradition is filled with glittering holiday cheer as Clara and her handsome Prince travel from the warmth of her family home to a land of toy soldiers, mischievous rodents and exotic visitors from faraway lands.
